"George Bush Is A War Criminal"

An official portrait of Condoleezza Rice. Cont...                       Image via Wikipedia
We know this because a 1000 leftist bloggers -- 1000 points of blight? -- have said so. So, it must be true.

But... apparently, so is Condoleezza Rice.

Who knew?

She sure won't be speaking at Tyndale anytime soon.

Nor will Bill Clinton, if a comparative Google word search means anything.

(Not that either of them would want to touch Tyndale with a 10 foot poll at this point.)

Breaking: Pravda Approves Of Tyndale's Disinvite of George W. Bush

Pravda Forums has covered Toronto's Tyndale University's bait-and-switch invite/disinvite of George W. Bush.

Pravda approves!  This approval -- by a "Supreme Member" no less -- may be the high water mark for the leftists who accused Tyndale of "hosting a war criminal".

Here's the link: http://engforum.pravda.ru/index.php?/topic/239707-bushs-toronto-visit-cancelled-amid-mass-public-pressure-for-arrest/ (Notice the words in the link.)

This post was written entirely by a the Supreme Member of the Ball Bounces.

George Bush, War Criminal "Has No Formal Training In Education Theory"!!!

Concerning the Tyndale Debacle (see posts below for context).

Overheard on a Tyndale blog: "... why is Mr. Bush speaking on Christian higher education? So far as I am aware, all of Mr. Bush’s higher education was from private, secular American universities. He has no formal training in education theory..."

Ah, yes. The academy had done its job. You're either with us, or you have nothing to say.  As I recall, Jesus and his main-guy Peter had no formal degrees either...

Meanwhile, here is a voice of sweet reason (which was not followed):
First of all, it sounds like a donor of Tyndale, Prem Watsa, is arranging and will be funding the breakfast (if you don’t know who Prem is, you may want to Google him). It’s very likely that Tyndale did not initiate this, and that Prem wanted to do this to bring awareness to Tyndale and Christian Higher Education among his colleagues and potential supporters in Toronto. PersonallyI think it would be rude and irrational to turn down such a generous opportunity.
Rude and irrational indeed. Way to go, "Amy".

The Tyndale-Bush Debacle: Devilish Spawn vs. "Our Lovely School"

To the President of Tyndale
16th September 2011
Dear sir:
I just returned from an overseas trip and am dismayed (as a graduate of the Ontario Theological Seminary, as Tyndale use to be called) to be informed about an ugly rumour being spread against my alma mater.
Someone said that the mass murderer George Bush, whose war in Iraq killed, injured and displaced over 1,000,000 people while destroying the country’s infrastructure and increasing child poverty and death had been invited to our school.
Obviously, anyone who takes the Scripture seriously would never be so blasphemous to mistake George Bush as a Christian because, as Jesus said, “by their fruit you will know them.”
I will continue, in the midst of my jet lag to try to find out who is spreading this terrible rumor about Tyndale inviting such a devilish spawn to our lovely school
Yours truly
Thomas Corbett
It's hard to know where to start with a letter like this. There's no indication it was meant to be self-satirizing. I would like to think it was written by some fiendish conservative to make the left look ridiculous, but there's no indication of that, either. It appears this is where the fevered leftist brain lands after a long trip abroad. Memo to self: never try to write a cutesy blogpost while jet-lagged. Memo to Thomas: get some sleep.

As a Tyndale alumnus, I can only say the Tyndale debacle is sad, sad, sad. The damage done will take years to recover from.

PS: I can only assume that that growly old war-monger Winston Churchill would have been chased off campus, while Neville "peace in our time" Chamberlain would have been welcomed with open arms.

Tyndale University's "Scheduling Conflict" Bad Hair Day

Toronto's Tyndale University snags a world figure -- George W. Bush -- for what was to be the first in a series of prominent speakers who would raise Tyndale's public profile and raise funds for the self-financed institution. Quite a coup! Then the coup came undone due to a coup "scheduling conflict".

sat. on/ Scheduling conflict? Don't the respective parties have appointment calendars? I mean, I've got a car appointment scheduled for next Wednesday at 10 am, and there it is, right in my calendar, colour-coded green. Does this mean George W. Bush, former leader of the free world, cannot afford calendar software??!!  If so, this means things are much worse in the US than people are letting on!! /sat. off

Michael Coren called Tyndale to get to the bottom of it all and Michael Coren is not a happy man. "It sounds like she might not be telling [me] the truth".

Indeed. (Of course, the Canadian financier organizing the event on Tyndale's behalf may have realized the way the (leftist) four strong winds were blowing, and decided to call it off -- he may have passed on to Tyndale a gentle "scheduling conflict" excuse, in which case,  all they can do is pass on the excuse they were given.

Ten-minute Michael Coren video well-worth watching.

PS: Pastor Joe Boot of Westminster Chapel is my newest hero for telling it like it is. I also liked the Tyndale English prof, but he was in an impossible position.

Fine. Cancel the event and raise tuition fees.

Problem solved.

"Tyndale Is Hosting A War Criminal" -- The Poster

"Tyndale Is Hosting A War Criminal". Well, there you have it. That's that then.

In addition to being a War Criminal, Bush is referred to as the author of policies which resulted in the "murder of thousands". The last time I checked, soldiers were not murderers. Perhaps they are thinking of revenge killings done by the Afghanistan and Iraqi authorities on their citizens? Perhaps they meant deaths rather than murders? But, no, they are critical thinkers, so it can't be sloppy writing.

And what's with this war criminal charge? Was the President ever tried, even in a pseudo-leftist court and convicted? Or is this just more hot rhetoric on the part of the critical thinkers at Tyndale?

I am an alumnus of Tyndale. It used to be conservative. It is conservative no more.

Tyndale University Disinvites George Bush In Leftist Anti-Free-Speech Triumph

Official photograph portrait of former U.S. Pr...                       Image via Wikipedia
Due to the actions of a left-wing pressure group Toronto's Tyndale University has cancelled(*) a scheduled fund-raising appearance by US President George W. Bush.

Bush, among other things, did more to quietly save lives in Africa by funding the fight against HIV/AIDS than any previous President but the leftists chose to characterize him as a run-of-the-mill War Criminal (apparently the presumption of innocence doesn't apply when a conservative is on the receiving end of a leftist accusation).

This is sad.

Big-tent inclusive and welcoming Tyndale, of which I am an alumnus, has suddenly become a smaller place.

File this under: exclusion, intimidation, intolerance, not to mention extremely ungracious behaviour.

(*) Actually, a "scheduling conflict" arose  and "neither side is talking", which makes this worse -- a Christian institution apparently engaging in euphemistic obfuscation.
